Their Home on Wheels? The SRT-18F
The Snowy River vans ticked all the boxes. For a 18ft single axle caravan it’s so spacious, which is huge when you’ve got two little kids. Everything just works, the bunks, the kitchen, the storage, the ensuite. They’re more affordable than a lot of other brands, but you don’t lose out on quality, which is really important to us. We also loved that there were options to customise interior colours so we could have a van that suited our style. If we were to design our own van from scratch, this would basically be it.

Where are you excited to go in NZ?
Everywhere! We have a jam packed itinerary for our time here, there are so many beautiful places to see, but some key highlights for us is the Coromandel on the North Island and camping in the snow in the Otago region on the South Island.

How did you get into full-time travelling?
It started with camping trips every weekend when we lived in Melbourne. We loved it so much we thought, “why don’t we just do a lap of Australia?” That trip was meant to be 12 months but turned into 18, and when we got back to Melbourne we realised we weren’t ready to give it up. So we figured out how to make full-time travel our lifestyle and we haven’t looked back since.

Tell us about family travelling
Travelling as a family is the best part about all of this. We get to spend so much time together, which is something we really value. The kids get to grow up in the outdoors, exploring and learning through their experiences and from mother nature. It’s not always easy living in a tiny space together and always moving but we’ve found the key is to travel slow - we’re not in a rush to get anywhere!
